Having never used Luton Airport before, we were pleased that travel to Luton on Thameslink and shuttle bus was easy and stress-free. The Silverjet complex and lounge was impressive, with helpful and attentive ground staff. The on-board, cabin and 'officers' team were first-class.

The care and interest in us did belong to a bygone age (or am I getting old?). The manageress was a delight, another coffee or something to nibble on? Making sure everyone was looked after or had what they wanted. The ambience in the lounge for me just right. No announcements, staff quietly going about their duties, etc.
…When it was time to board, no loud announcements, brilliant. Just a quite personal, 'if you would like to board now'...
The dreaded coach trip to the aircraft. NOT. New small coaches, but not packed in like we are used to; we all have room to breath and move. Thank you. Even the driver said have a good trip…
… The human touch is always so important...(the flight cabin attendant) came and asked 'would you like a drink and to have warm nuts' ...an offer that (mentions a well known airline) never got round to, in fact no one did. Please tell her to keep that in, this is not a criticism. When later she came back after dinner and said your cheese and your crackers, sir, it was fantastic. Maybe it’s my sense of humor, but it is much needed in this fast pace of life we lead...made me feel special (I am, so my mother said)..
… It seems that those staff that we have spoken to on this flight love the company, a rare comment in this dog eat dog world, and I can see that when we come back for subsequent flights, and we will, we will be greeted by staff that we know, how great is that.
I should mention one thing we saw missing that other business class flights have, and that's the trolley. So refreshing not to see it and to have your food, etc brought to you as an individual…
